Who says that he/she has no problem?
Problem is a part of our lives. It maybe with regard to our emotions, health,
jobs or money matters. But if problem struck you, it does not mean that it is
the end of everything. We have to face it, do something to solve it, for
there’s always a solution to it. What we need is patience and perseverance to
do the right thing, don’t give up.
After graduating from high school, I
was so eager to enroll for the fall classes. I joined my uncle with his
construction business so I could earn money to pay for my tuition fee and other
things I need. Though my father offered me help, I said “no” because I want to
prove to him that I can stand by myself. I know it is not easy to work and
study at the same time especially with the kind of job I have, but I know I
have to do it. My dream is to go to college and earn a degree to have a better
future.
I worked 5 hours during weekdays and
8 hours on Saturday. Everything went on smoothly. I enjoyed going to school and
work with no problem at all until 2011. During the year 2010 my uncle’s
business slowed down. People are tight with money so, constructions or repairs
are not their priority. At first, I was not affected since I have my savings.
There are times that I don’t have work for several weeks and if there is, it
would maybe for few hours, not enough to cope up with my obligations. I am
behind with my bills which did not happen to me before. I had sleepless nights
thinking of what to do especially the 2011 fall enrollment is coming.
My last resort is to go to my father
and ask for help. But how will I approached him, what to say to him. The fear
that my father will turn me down is the biggest hindrance that it took me a
long time to talk to him. The problem was too stressful for me.
Reserve to my face, my father listened to my story and
without any hesitation, he handed me the money I needed, the next day. How
happy I was, that I hugged him so tight. But I told my father that I will pay
him as soon as I have the money. Right now, I have another job besides the work
I had with my uncle, so little by little I am paying my dad for the money I owed
him. It’s great to have somebody you can run to in time of problems.
